How can I find my organization on the web site?
Enter your organization's name in the 'Organization Name' box located in the search feature on the home page. Note the 'State' default in the search feature is NY so if you are unable to find your organization in the search, pick the state used when you registered. If you continue to encounter difficulty, contact us by email - info@emergencyservicesdirectory.org or by using the 'Contact Us' button located on the page banner.
How can I add my organization to the web site?
During the registration process choose 'Register Organization' at the bottom of the registration page and complete the resulting data boxes. If you have registered as an individual already, log out of the program. When you log back on, you will receive a message that you do not have an organization registered yet. Click on the blue highlighted link on the word 'here'. A set of data boxes will open allowing you to enter the needed information for the added organization.
How can I update my organization on the web site?
Clicking on the red 'Edit Organization' or 'Your Organizations' box located at the top of the page banner will take you to a set of data entry boxes that you can modify, add to, or delete data from the appropriate tab or box. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the data boxes to 'Save' your data before leaving the page.
How do I retrieve my password?
After 2 incorrect password entries, a box will appear that says "Sorry, unrecognized username or password. Have you forgotten your password? ". Click on the 'Request new password' link above the sentence. You will be asked for your username or email address. After completing that entry, click the 'Email new password' button and a new password will be sent to your email address. You can change the password after you log in with the assigned password by going to the red 'Edit User Info' button at the top of the page banner. If you continue to have a problem or are taking over an organization's account and need a new password, email us at info@emergencyservicesdirectory.org or use the 'Contact us' button in the banner.
What if I have several organizations to add or update?
When you log on a list of the organizations you have registered may appear. Clicking on the organization link you want will take you to a set of data entry boxes that you can modify, add to or delete data from the appropriate tab or box. Alternatively, you can click the red 'Edit Organization' or 'Your Organizations' box located at the top of the page banner at any time to update an organization. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the data boxes to 'Save' your data before leaving the page. If you want to add another organization, click the red 'Register' button at the top of the page banner. A set of data entry boxes will appear so you can enter the new organization(s) which will be added to your list of registrations the next time you log on.
How do I obtain a printed copy of my county directory information?
Click Order Copies tab. There will be four New York State regional directories available after the organizations update their information. They are Western NY, Finger Lakes Region, Central NY and Northeastern NY. The Lower Hudson Valley, New York City and Long Island regions have incomplete entries and are being developed. If you are located in a county in one of these three regions and want to help complete the entries, please contact the ESD at info@EmergencyServicesDirectory.org or by using the 'Contact Us' button located on the page banner.
Can I register a commercial enterprise that assists emergency services?
Yes you can. Use the 'Register' button in the top right corner of the banner. After filling in the information boxes, use 'Register Organization.' Select 'Resource-Commercial.' The organization category to be selected in most cases will be 'Resource-Commercial'. Note this entry will only allow your organization to be searchable. If you want to advertise your enterprise, click 'Support Us.' For additional information, contact us by email - info@emergencyservicesdirectory.org or by use the 'Contact Us' button. Note: We reserve the right to remove any registration that is not related to emergency services.
Can I advertise on the website?
Yes you can. Advertising information is at the bottom of the 'Support Us' page. We reserve the right to refuse any advertisement that is not related to emergency services.
